Job Details
- Setting: Hospital-based cardiovascular surgery unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist Job
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Duration: 17 weeks (minimum of 13 weeks considered)
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, 5 shifts per week
- Call: Required after 2:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,060
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Location: Midland, TX 79701

Job Requirements
- 2 years of CVOR or surgical technologist experience required
- Must be certified as a CVOR Tech or Surgical Technologist
- BLS required
- NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
- Community hospital experience required
- Cerner experience preferred
- Pending license accepted with submission, but must be active before start
- RTO required with submission; some holidays should be expected
- Must comply with travel healthcare screening and documentation requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiovascular surgery and thoracic surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room setting
- Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for complex CVOR cases
- Support procedures such as CABG, aneurysm repairs, carotid interventions, valve replacements, TEVAR, VATS, and other advanced vascular surgeries
- Maintain sterile technique and follow universal protocol, laser safety, and isolation precautions
- Handle specimen labeling and support accurate intraoperative workflow
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, and the surgical team to promote efficient case flow
- Participate in call coverage as scheduled, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday needs
