Travel Nursing Job Details

• Hours: 36 hours per week, with a 48-hour option available
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 across days, nights, and weekends
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Profile: Approximately 14-patient daily census, 16 beds, and 12 rooms
• Charting System: Epic
• Weekend Coverage: Six weekend shifts per six-week period
• Orientation: 12 hours

Travel ICU RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; 2 years of ICU nursing experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS and PALS certifications as applicable to the assignment
• Recent Epic electronic health record charting experience
• Experience caring for critically ill patients with a 1:2 assignment ratio
• Ability to float based on the schedule and provide weekend coverage

Medical-Surgical ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical-Surgical ICU
• Assess patient conditions, develop and update nursing care plans, and evaluate clinical outcomes
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Monitor and titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions according to established protocols
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, IV therapies, and blood product administration
• Provide care for patients with acute or chronic renal failure, including CRRT when indicated
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, stroke, multisystem organ dysfunction, and other critical conditions
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases and communicate significant changes promptly
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Accurately document care and clinical changes in Epic while maintaining patient safety and infection-prevention standards
