Travel NICU RN Job Details

• Position: NICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Voorhees, New Jersey
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360-$2,480
• Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.; three 12-hour shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Healthcare Setting: On-site, 46-bed Level III NICU
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday and one summer holiday during the assignment
• Call: No on-call requirement
• Floating: Willingness to float among five designated area hospitals within the nurse’s skill set based on staffing needs
• Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling is not available. Requested time off must be submitted with the application, and time off during the first week is not permitted.

NICU Travel Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience, preferably within the past 12 months
• Level III NICU experience required
• Experience caring for micro-preemies and managing high-frequency ventilation
• Active Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a compact state at the time of application
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Recent travel nursing experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred
• Ability to complete required pre-employment laboratory testing and orientation requirements
• Professional navy blue scrubs are required

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU
• Care for micro-preemies and newborns requiring high-frequency ventilation and other advanced neonatal interventions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments, perform assessments, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Support family-centered and couplet-care practices while promoting safe, compassionate neonatal care
• Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain safe patient ratios and contribute to a positive, professional NICU culture
• Float to designated nearby hospitals as needed while practicing within NICU competencies
