PACU Travel Nurse Job Details

- End Date: January 16, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Call Requirements: Approximately one weeknight call shift every other week and one weekend call rotation every 6-7 weeks; weekend call runs from Friday afternoon through Monday morning
- Charting System: Epic
- Work Arrangement: On-site
PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin or compact Registered Nurse license
- At least 2 years of recent Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Associate degree or nursing certificate
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Strong time-management, communication, and organizational skills
- Dependable, resilient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to patient care
PACU RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, skilled nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Monitor airway, breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, pain, and post-operative recovery status
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders and established standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical, and perioperative teams to support smooth patient transitions
- Complete accurate patient assessments, documentation, and handoff reports in Epic
- Provide patient and family education related to recovery and discharge instructions
- Participate in scheduled weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage
- Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced clinical environment
