Travel RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent permanent Registered Nurse experience in medical-surgical telemetry
- Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification must be completed before the start date
- One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, director, or charge nurse in the applicable specialty
- Successful completion of required compliance screening and travel nursing onboarding activities
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, symptoms, and clinical changes, escalating concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards of care
- Complete thorough patient assessments, individualized care plans, clinical documentation, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including telemetry-related concerns
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered inpatient care environment
