Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
• Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care ICU, medical-surgical, and progressive-care environment
• Assignment: 13-week ICU travel nurse contract
• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• End Date: December 31, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Approximately three shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday rotation required

• Orientation: Comprehensive competency validation, online education, and precepted unit orientation

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or a compact-state RN license
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care, ICU, progressive-care, or medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Demonstrated ability to care for patients requiring telemetry, oxygen titration, non-invasive ventilation, and complex medication management
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation, moderate sedation monitoring, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Flexibility to float to appropriate medical-surgical units based on patient census and staffing needs

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients with pneumonia, COPD, congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism, COVID-19, and other complex medical conditions
• Monitor and manage patients receiving oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilation
• Perform ongoing nursing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate timely interventions
• Administer intravenous medications and provide safe, accurate medication management
• Monitor telemetry and support patients undergoing moderate sedation for procedures such as bronchoscopy
• Provide care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and postoperative needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialty providers
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, effective transitions of care, and compassionate service
• Support a positive team environment through strong critical thinking, time management, communication, and clinical prioritization
