Certified Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent operating room or perioperative experience
• Active NBSTSA or NCCT certification at the time of submission
• Current resume and active certification documentation
• Proficiency with EPIC and general operating room workflows
• Experience with the da Vinci robotic surgical system preferred
• Experience supporting orthopedic trauma, total joint, neuro, peripheral vascular, and cardiovascular procedures preferred
• Ability to adapt to day and evening assignments with variable start times
• Strong sterile technique, surgical technology, teamwork, communication, and intraoperative organization skills

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
• Provide scrub support throughout surgical cases while maintaining a sterile field
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team
• Support general, orthopedic, total joint, neuro, peripheral vascular, cardiovascular, and trauma procedures as assigned
• Assist with robotic surgery cases and other specialized operating room procedures when qualified
• Perform instrument counts and help ensure accurate documentation, patient safety, and efficient room turnover
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other perioperative staff to promote efficient patient care
• Float within the operating room as needed and follow established surgical safety and infection prevention standards
