Travel Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470-$2,600
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Pool
• Healthcare Setting: Large academic medical center supporting approximately 15 medical-surgical units

• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts, with a combination of 8- and 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts
• Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays required; no call required
• Float Requirement: Assignments may vary among medical-surgical units based on staffing and patient-care needs
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Scrubs: Any color
• Commute: Public transportation is available in the area

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of recent related Registered Nurse experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in a teaching-hospital environment preferred
• Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing expertise preferred
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing unit assignments and patient populations

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Complete assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and communicate significant findings to the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and therapies, including Lasix infusions and nebulizer treatments
• Safely administer blood products according to established protocols
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy and other members of the care team when managing patients requiring respiratory support
• Float among assigned medical-surgical units and quickly integrate into new teams and workflows
• Document patient care accurately in Epic
• Provide patient and family education while promoting quality, safety, and compassionate care
