Job Details
- Position: PCU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Pattern: Approximately 3 shifts per week, with day and night rotations based on unit needs
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 – $2,270
- Start Date: 11/2/2026
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Unit Focus: Acute leukemia and hematology
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
- Recent acute care experience within the last 12 months in the specialty area
- Experience in MS oncology and at least 1 inpatient hematology oncology setting
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- ONS Chemotherapy certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong background in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Ability to provide 2 professional references, including 1 from a manager or director
- Ability to work a rotating schedule with variable weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute leukemia and hematology-oncology diagnoses
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, IV antibiotics, electrolytes, and related therapies safely and accurately
- Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to patient condition changes
- Support infection prevention and patient fall prevention initiatives
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, implanted ports, and peripheral IV access
- Perform blood draws, IV starts, and medication administration with attention to safety and accuracy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
- Document patient care in Epic and communicate changes in status promptly
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a specialized oncology environment
