- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; weekdays with some weekends
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Orientation: 8 hours
- Charting System: Cerner
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Unit Volume: Daily census of 34 with 36 beds
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in West Virginia or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
- At least 1 year of MS/Tele experience and 2 years of stepdown experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association required
- Ability to read cardiac strips confidently and interpret dysrhythmias
- Experience with Cerner preferred
- Strong telemetry, cardiac care, and progressive care background
- Permanent address must be at least 100 miles from the facility; 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case
- Minimum of 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
- Monitor telemetry continuously and respond to rhythm changes and dysrhythmias promptly
- Administer IV medications and manage cardiac-related therapies within scope of practice
- Support patients recovering from cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology procedures, and complex medical conditions
- Complete patient assessments, document care accurately in Cerner, and communicate changes in condition quickly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response services
- Maintain safe patient ratios and adapt to varying acuity levels in a fast-paced stepdown unit
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a travel nursing environment
