Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Home Health Assignment in Chesapeake, VA

Job Details
- Location: Chesapeake, VA
- Setting: Home Health
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,310-$2,480
- Weekend Coverage: Ortho cases only, every 4th or 5th weekend
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Additional Perks: Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate
Physical Therapist Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience required
- Home health experience preferred
- Virginia PT license required at time of submission
- CPR certification required
- MatrixCare or Epic experience preferred, but not required
- Open to first-time travelers
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to work independently in the home health setting
Physical Therapy Responsibilities
- Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments for patients in the home setting
- Help restore function, relieve pain, and support prevention of disability through evidence-based interventions
- Provide education and guidance to patients and caregivers
- Participate in discharge planning and complete documentation accurately and on time
- Direct patient participation in therapeutic tasks that reinforce mobility, strength, and independence
- Manage a caseload of approximately 6 to 7 weighted visits per day
- Collaborate with the care team to promote safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes
