Emergency Room Nurse Manager (RN) | 2–Week Permanent – Flemington, New Jersey
Job Description
Nurse Manager – Emergency Department (RN)
Lead Change. Shape Care. Make a Visible Impact.
If you’re an Emergency Department leader who wants more than just managing schedules and staffing grids, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of an Emergency Department where your ideas, leadership, and decisions will have a direct impact on patient care, staff engagement, and departmental growth.
Unlike large health systems where decisions can get lost in layers of leadership, this community hospital offers the chance to be a true operational and clinical leader. You’ll work closely with executive and nursing leadership, have a seat at the table, and play a meaningful role in driving initiatives that improve the Emergency Department for both patients and staff.
Why This Role is Different
- Opportunity to make a tangible impact on the direction and growth of the Emergency Department
- Visible leadership role where your contributions are recognized and valued
- Ability to influence workflows, quality initiatives, staff development, and patient experience
- Community hospital environment where collaboration moves faster and your voice carries weight
- Supportive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional growth
The Opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Manager will oversee the daily operations of a busy Emergency Department while serving as a key leader in departmental strategy, quality improvement, employee engagement, and clinical excellence.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Nurse Manager, or current Nurse Manager who wants to step into a role where they can truly influence outcomes rather than simply maintain the status quo.
You will have the ability to identify opportunities, implement change, mentor staff, and help build the future vision of emergency services within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Emergency Department operations and patient flow initiatives
- Develop, mentor, and support nursing staff and emerging leaders
- Drive quality, patient safety, and performance improvement efforts
- Partner with leadership to implement departmental goals and strategic initiatives
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and a positive team culture
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader within the department
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license
- BSN required
- Minimum 3-4 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Previous leadership experience preferred (Charge RN, Lead RN, Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or similar)
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
Ideal Candidate
- Wants to be part of building and improving an Emergency Department, not simply maintaining one
- Enjoys leading change and seeing the direct results of their efforts
- Values collaboration, visibility, and strong relationships with staff and physicians
- Thrives in a community hospital environment where leaders are accessible and impactful
- Passionate about developing teams, improving patient outcomes, and creating a positive workplace culture
If you’re looking for a leadership opportunity where your work will genuinely influence the future of a department, and where you’ll be more than just one leader among hundreds…we’d love to connect with you.
