Hospital Line Cook Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 1 year of relevant food service, hospital kitchen, or line cook experience required
• Previous line cook experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, recipes, dietary requirements, and food safety standards
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy, quality, and portion consistency
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform routine kitchen and food service duties
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work the assigned every-other-weekend schedule
• Required COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations, subject to applicable medical or religious exemptions

Hospital Dietary and Food Service Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, patient dietary requirements, and hospital food service standards
• Complete food preparation, portioning, and meal line service activities in a timely manner
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and hospital kitchen procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout each shift
• Properly handle, store, label, and rotate ingredients and prepared foods
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, presentation, and portion consistency
• Collaborate with dietary services and food service team members to support smooth patient meal service
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and other hospital food service duties as assigned
