Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Travel Nursing Job in Albany, Georgia

Travel RN Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing / Acute Care
• Location: Albany, Georgia
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential options for 8- or 17-week assignments
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 a.m.-7:15 p.m.
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week; hours are not guaranteed during orientation
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work two of three designated holidays
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6
• Charting: Meditech Expanse experience required
• Uniform: Caribbean blue or white

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Georgia or a valid compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current AHA NIHSS certification
• AHA ACLS certification highly preferred
• Recent experience caring for patients with sickle cell disease
• Recent proficiency with peripheral IV insertion
• Recent Meditech Expanse experience required; HCA Meditech experience does not meet the requirement
• Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment required
• Ability to float to acute care units and cardiovascular areas, including emergency patient holds, as needed

Acute Care Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and acute care patients
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Safely administer medications and treatments while monitoring for changes in patient status
• Perform peripheral IV insertion and support the care of patients with complex medical needs, including sickle cell disease
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Meditech Expanse
• Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote quality outcomes
• Float to other acute care areas when emergent staffing needs arise; mid-shift floats are uncommon
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining a safe and supportive clinical environment
