Medical-Surgical LPN Travel Nurse Contract in Zanesville, Ohio
Join a collaborative hospital team in Zanesville, Ohio, as a Medical-Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week travel nursing assignment. Care for patients across Medical-Surgical and Observation units while gaining valuable hospital experience in southeastern Ohio.

Travel LPN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680-$1,770
- Location: Zanesville, Ohio
- Assignment Type: Medical-Surgical LPN travel contract
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Call: No call requirement
- Openings: 2
Medical-Surgical LPN Job Requirements
- Active Ohio LPN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- IV certification
- At least 2 years of current or recent hospital experience; 1 year is required at minimum if equivalent experience is considered
- Demonstrated proficiency with the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry; competency will be assessed during orientation
- Ability to manage a patient assignment of approximately 5 patients with RN oversight
- Flexibility to float among Medical-Surgical and Observation units
Medical-Surgical LPN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients on Medical-Surgical and Observation units.
- Float between units such as Surgical, Respiratory, Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, and Observation based on patient-care needs.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and communicate findings promptly to the RN and interdisciplinary care team.
- Administer medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice and facility policy.
- Perform IV-related care consistent with current certification and clinical competency.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic.
- Read and monitor telemetry appropriately while escalating concerns according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with RNs and other healthcare professionals to support individualized patient care plans.
