Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts, 36 hours per week; a 48-hour option may be available
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Unit: 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 on days and weekends; 1:5 on nights
• Charting: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Orientation: 24 hours

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Virginia license pending candidates may be considered if the license is active by the required pre-start deadline
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele or telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Recent Epic electronic health record experience
• Demonstrated experience caring for patients with telemetry monitoring needs and complex medical conditions
• Strong clinical knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin protocols, insulin drips, renal failure, isolation precautions, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and wound care
• BSN preferred
• Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
• Flu vaccination is required

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Monitor telemetry patients, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage patients with respiratory and renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell disease, and cystic fibrosis
• Administer and monitor heparin infusions and insulin drips using established protocols
• Deliver skilled nursing care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound vacs, PCA pumps, and other specialized equipment
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, clinical documentation, patient education, and discharge coordination
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV services, physical therapy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and promote safe, evidence-based patient care
• Support unit operations by floating within scope of practice and participating in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage
