Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Unit: 6120 MPCU
- Location: Hays, Kansas
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through March 1, 2027
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
- Schedule: Four-shift schedule; assignment needs may include 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4-5
- Weekend Coverage: Weekend rotation required
- Call: Not required
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Additional Details: Free parking and flexible scrub colors; some holiday coverage is expected
PCU Travel RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Kansas
- At least 1 year of recent PCU or comparable progressive care nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Demonstrated IV-start competency
- Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
- Meditech electronic medical record charting experience required
- Ability to float within scope of practice to support staffing needs
- Willingness to complete required pre-assignment laboratory and screening requirements
- Time-off requests must be approved and documented before the assignment begins
Progressive Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive care monitoring and intervention
- Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and implement timely nursing interventions
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and appropriately interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Perform IV starts, medication administration, and other nursing procedures within scope
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Meditech electronic medical record
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery needs
- Float to other units within scope when needed to support safe patient care
