Emergency Department RN Job Details
- Location: West Chester, Pennsylvania
- Department: Emergency Department
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000-$2,100
- Start Date: October 29, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours total
- Weekend Requirement: One out of every three weekends
- Additional Opportunities: Candidates willing to pick up additional weekend shifts are highly desirable. A potential temp-to-hire transition may be available.
Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
- Trauma nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, triage, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative emergency care environment
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Perform rapid nursing assessments, identify changes in patient status, and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications and treatments safely and efficiently
- Monitor patient responses and communicate critical findings to the emergency care team
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professionals to support timely evaluation and treatment
- Assist with emergency procedures and trauma-related care as needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe transitions of care
- Promote patient and family education, comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the emergency visit
