Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Job in Topeka, Kansas
Travel to Topeka, Kansas, for a 13-week Labor & Delivery RN assignment supporting high-acuity maternal care. Job Details

- Setting: High-risk Labor & Delivery unit with OB triage, postpartum, and Level 2 special care nursery support
- Location: Topeka, KS 66606
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Weekly Schedule: 36 hours per week; 48-hour option noted in the source
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920-$2,020
- Orientation: Brief onsite orientation provided
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend
- Floating: May float to Postpartum as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, obstetrics, or a closely related maternal care setting
- BLS, FHM, and NRP required
- AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly and provide safe, compassionate care in a team-based healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled Labor & Delivery nursing care for laboring patients, including high-risk pregnancies and obstetric complications
- Support OB triage, postpartum nursing, and couplet care workflows
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and external cephalic versions
- Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and other complex maternal needs
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the maternal care team to promote safe outcomes for mothers and newborns
- Deliver thorough patient education and support throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum experience
