Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of current Labor & Delivery RN experience
- OB triage experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- Active fetal monitoring certification required: C-EFM preferred; AWHONN Intermediate accepted
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate credentials preferred or required per assignment needs
- Experience circulating for C-sections strongly valued
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required, with medical/religious exemptions only
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care for patients from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum
- Monitor labor progress and support patients throughout the birthing process
- Support OB triage, labor rooms, OB operating rooms, and OB PACU care as needed
- Assist with and circulate for C-sections when appropriate
- Perform fetal monitoring and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary team to promote safe outcomes
- Deliver compassionate, family-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow unit protocols
- Adapt to rotating holiday and weekend coverage requirements
