Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Eureka, California

- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Night shift, 3×12-hour shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,480 – $2,610
- Setting: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn Care
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, as needed to support staffing
- Float Requirement: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Active California RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to care for high-risk OB patients and support cesarean section deliveries
- Strong skills in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse, team-oriented environment
- Must be flexible with floating and weekend coverage as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Monitor fetal and maternal status throughout the labor and delivery process
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean section circulation, and recovery care
- Support high-risk obstetric patients with clinical expertise and calm, attentive care
- Perform newborn assessments, breastfeeding support, discharge education, and family teaching
- Recognize and respond to changes in maternal or fetal condition promptly
- Collaborate with the care team to promote positive outcomes for mother and baby
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold high standards of patient safety
