Patient Care Technician Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of patient care experience required
- CNA or PCT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Rehab, acute care, or hospital experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with adult patients preferred
- Floor PCA or CNA background is a plus
- Comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, therapy staff, and the interdisciplinary care team
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to adult rehabilitation patients with daily care needs
- Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and safe ambulation using proper equipment
- Support patient hygiene, grooming, and basic comfort measures
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition to the care team
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
- Utilize patient lifts and workstation on wheels as needed
- Document care activities accurately according to unit standards and EPIC charting procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to help promote patient recovery and independence
