Job Description
Mental Health Director / Psychologist – Corrections
A multi-site network in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Psychologist and Mental Health Director for one of their multiple correctional facilities. This permanent role offers the chance to manage a team, oversee mental health programs, and drive patient care outcomes in line with clinical guidelines and community standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee routine mental health intakes, assessments, and evaluations
- Supervise mental health staff and facilitate care delivery
- Administer treatments and prescribe psychotropic medications
- Contribute to behavioral health program development and evaluation
- Promote a therapeutic environment for inmate patients
- Participate in hiring and orientation of mental health staff
- Provide direct mental health services as needed
- Maintain security clearance for the assigned facility
Compensation: $125,000 – $135,000/yr (Depending on experience)
Job Requirements
- Completion from an accredited medical school with a degree of Ph.D., Psy.D., MD, or DO
- Completion of a US-based residency program in a mental health facility
- Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state
- Experience with mental health delivery systems
- Maintains an active CPR Certification
- Unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority with DEA and CDS
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Electronic Health Records
