- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Location: Freeport, IL
- Charting System: MEDITECH
- Orientation: 1-2 weeks with a preceptor
Job Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license required to submit
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- 2-5 years of PACU experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using MEDITECH for clinical documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric surgical patients in the PACU
- Monitor recovery status, vital signs, pain levels, airway stability, and patient safety
- Support Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery workflows, including pre-op holding coverage as needed
- Care for patients recovering from general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry procedures
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
- Respond to call coverage needs, including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotation
- Document accurately and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
- Contribute to an efficient, patient-centered PACU environment
