Job Details

- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 – $1,630
- Unit: 30-bed cardiac-focused Med/Surg unit
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Scheduling: Approximately every other weekend
- Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Cardiac nursing knowledge preferred
- Experience with telemetry and cardiac drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone preferred
- Comfort with Meditech documentation preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate bedside care to adult Medical-Surgical patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess cardiac rhythms, and document findings accurately each shift
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips per unit standards
- Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and routine EKG needs as assigned
- Complete bedside rounding and hourly rounding to support positive patient outcomes
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and the broader acute care team
- Float to similar Med/Surg areas when needed based on skill mix and unit needs
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow all unit safety and documentation standards
