Job Details
- Setting: Labor & Delivery / Women’s Services
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620 – $1,700
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- End Date: January 4, 2027
- Unit Highlights: Supportive 16-bed Labor & Delivery unit with electronic fetal monitoring and a dynamic, team-based care environment
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
- Immediate newborn care experience required
- Current BLS certification
- NRP certification required
- Advanced fetal monitoring knowledge or certification
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, adaptable approach to patient care
- Circulating experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Support procedures such as D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst cases as needed
- Monitor fetal status and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Deliver immediate newborn care and support smooth transitions of care
- Document patient care accurately and work effectively with electronic charting systems
- Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
- Float to related maternal and newborn care areas when assigned
