Job Details
- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Anchorage, AK
- Anchorage offers a stunning Alaska setting with access to scenic mountains, coastal views, and year-round outdoor adventure.
- Setting: Acute care hospital, high-risk Labor & Delivery unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3×12 or 4×12 night shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: No call required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Orientation: 35 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 – $2,500
- Start Date: ASAP / 10/19/2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
Job Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required for auto-offer; pending license may be considered for screening
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery or comparable OB nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with high-risk obstetrics, labor and delivery triage, antepartum, and labor support preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred, or willingness to train
- Must be comfortable working night shift and rotating weekend coverage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a collaborative care team
- Travel nurses must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients
- Support triage, fetal monitoring, and assessment of obstetrical patients
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk births
- Monitor and respond to maternal and fetal status changes throughout labor and recovery
- Perform patient education, discharge teaching, and family support
- Administer and manage OB-related medications and interventions as indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal, and ancillary teams to deliver safe care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols
- Float within scope when needed to support patient care across like units
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on quality outcomes and patient safety
