PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Richmond, VA

Job Details
- Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse
- Location: Richmond, Virginia 23219
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 – $2,370
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, alternating between day and night schedules in set blocks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Openings: 3 positions available
- Unit Setting: Pediatric ICU with a daily census of approximately 16 patients
- Work Environment: High-acuity pediatric critical care with strong interdisciplinary support
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state, in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 3 years of pediatric critical care experience preferred
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work rotating day/night blocks and maintain schedule flexibility
- Willingness to work at least 2 holidays during the assignment
- Two professional references required
- Ability to float within scope as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor patient status closely and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, social services, and other support staff
- Accurately document patient care in Epic
- Support a safe, efficient, and family-centered care environment
- Manage care for a diverse pediatric population within scope of practice
- Adapt to rotating schedules and contribute to weekend and holiday coverage
- Float as needed within your clinical scope to support unit needs
