Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or acute care nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
- Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record documentation systems preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and rotate with core staff as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients with a variety of needs
- Perform basic patient assessments, ongoing monitoring, and general care and maintenance
- Manage care related to wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
- Support patients who may require dialysis or PCA pumps
- Assist with post-op care including amputations, ostomy care, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
- Complete bedside shift reports, safety checks, and timely clinical documentation
- Follow infection prevention, fall prevention, medication scanning, and attendance standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the care team to promote positive patient outcomes and smooth unit flow
