Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Job – ICU & PCU Float Contract in Harrison Township, New Jersey
Experienced Registered Nurse needed for an 8-week Cardiac Stepdown contract in Harrison Township, NJ. This New Jersey nursing job is ideal for a clinically strong RN with ICU and stepdown experience who is comfortable floating between ICU and PCU environments.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090-$2,200
- Location: Harrison Township, New Jersey

- Contract Length: 8-week contract
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month
- Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per assignment
- Work Setting: On-site
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of combined ICU nursing and Stepdown nursing experience
- Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license
- Epic experience required
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt in high-acuity patient care settings
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a Cardiac Stepdown setting
- Float between ICU and PCU units as needed based on patient care demands
- Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and clinical protocols
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
- Support safe transitions of care and provide patient-centered education to patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to promote high-quality outcomes
