Job Details
- Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse
- Type: Travel RN, Acute Care
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 – $2,270
- Location: Morgantown, WV 26506
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiac stepdown / med-surg flex unit
- Charting System: EPIC
- Call/Standby: No call or standby requirement
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of nursing experience required; cardiac stepdown or med-surg experience preferred
- EPIC experience required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Comfort caring for both stepdown and lower-acuity med-surg patients
- Ability to manage telemetry and titratable drips
- Willingness to float to similar floor or stepdown units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care to a diverse adult patient population
- Care for patients with cardiac and medical/surgical needs in a flexible acuity setting
- Monitor telemetry and collaborate with the healthcare team on changes in patient condition
- Titrate drips per provider orders, including anticoagulants, insulin, antihypertensives, and pain management therapies
- Support patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, or ventilator monitoring on the stepdown side
- Work closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and clinical associates to maintain smooth unit flow
- Float as needed to comparable floor or stepdown units
