- Unit Size: 14 beds
- EMR: Meditech
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend; must be willing to float to other units as needed
Job Requirements
- Current RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital Progressive Care Unit experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required
- Experience with medication drips, central lines, and recovery support preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Comfortable floating to other units when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients requiring close observation and ongoing assessment
- Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, IV pumps, drains, and other specialized equipment
- Administer medications and support patients receiving complex therapies and continuous drips
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and maintain safe, organized workflows
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when needed
- Support a positive, engaged, and patient-focused unit culture
