Job Details
- Position: Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room RN
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Richmond, VA 23226
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Start Date: 9/14/2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Population: Patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
Job Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department RN or ER nursing experience required
- Experience with conscious sedation required
- BLS and ACLS required
- CPI / de-escalation training required
- EPIC experience preferred
- Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and rapid prioritization skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, high-acuity acute care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments, triage, and reassessments in a fast-paced ED setting
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with nursing standards and policies
- Support stabilization, resuscitation, and crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and disposition
- Document care accurately and efficiently using electronic health records
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and best practices in every interaction
- Respond calmly and professionally to changing patient conditions and urgent situations
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during stressful moments
